HOO’s Tales – Story Carnival

Via Hoo’s Tales

HOO’s Tales is a one-of-a-kind story carnival organized by the Hippocampus Book Council as part of our endeavour to promote reading among children. The idea is to introduce children to a variety of stories in different genres and performance styles. As librarians, we see how much children enjoy listening to stories. Almost all of them are introduced to books through stories read to them. So we thought, why not get as many storytellers as we can in one place so that children can come and listen to all the stories they want.HOO’s Tales 2010 With each year, we would like to see HOO’s Tales bring in more storytellers from across India and the world so that children can see and hear the many wonderful tales that fill the world. For many of the performers, this has been a fantastic platform to keep alive a tradition and build it so many contemporary elements to it. We are seeing a revival of storytelling in India and excited to offer a platform such as HOO’s Tales and a great audience in Bangalore and Chennai.
