R. Sriram

CHAIRPERSON AND MANAGING TRUSTEE

VIEW

Sriram is the Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Pratham Books. He was the co-founder of Crossword, a pioneering modern retail venture and helped build it into India’s leading book store chain. He currently works with a range of enterprises, across sectors and stages, to help them create, deliver and capture value. An avid bird photographer, Sriram serves on the boards of several nonprofit and for-profit organisations.

Suzanne Singh

Suzanne is the Trustee of Pratham Books. She moved to the development sector in 2003 after gaining 14 years of marketing and communications experience in the corporate sector. Deeply interested in issues of equity and access to quality education, Suzanne has been involved with Pratham Books since its inception in 2004 and became the Managing Trustee of the organisation in 2010. She has been the Chairperson of Pratham Books since 2014 and through technology and innovation, is enabling the organisation to further its mission of ‘a book in every child’s hand’. She also serves as a Trustee of Akshara Foundation.

Ashok Kamath

Ashok is the co-founder and Trustee of Pratham Books. A former Managing Director at Analog Devices (India), he left a successful corporate life to contribute to the development sector. In 2013, his alma mater, IIT-Bombay, honoured him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award for his rich contributions to the field of children’s education. He is currently the Chairman of Akshara Foundation.

Meenakshi Ramesh

Meenakshi Ramesh is Chief Executive Officer at United Way of Chennai, a not-for-profit and CSR implementation partner for corporates, in the areas of education, livelihoods and environment. She is also co-founder of Citizen Matters, an online magazine and knowledge platform for raising awareness on urban civic issues. Meenakshi is an alumna of M S University Baroda and  Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. In 2001, she began working at Pratham, which is one of India’s largest NGOs, and works to ensure every child is in school and learning. She continues to work and volunteer with NGOs, including serving on the Board of four.

Prof. M.S. Sriram

Prof. Sriram is a faculty member at the Centre for Public Policy, IIM Bengaluru. He is also a Distinguished Fellow at the Institute for Development of Research in Banking Technology set up by the RBI. A co-author of ‘Beyond Micro-credit’ and two other books on Flow of Credit to Small and Marginal Farmers, he has also published several works of fiction in Kannada. He is now on the board of NDDB Dairy Services?, Institute of Rural Management, Anand? and Centre for Budget and Policy Studies. He is a Trustee of Dastkar Andhra? and Sanket Trust that runs Rangashankara in Bengaluru.?

Srikanth Nadhamuni

Srikanth is a technologist and entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in chip design, internet technologies and e-Governance. Post his Masters in the U.S., he spent 14 years with several global companies in Silicon Valley. Srikanth was Head of Technology for the AADHAAR project and is currently the Managing Trustee of the eGovernments Foundations. He also holds the position of Chief Executive Officer, Khosla Labs.

Pervin Varma

Pervin started her career in advertising before moving to CRY (Child Rights and You) in Mumbai in 1990. She worked with CRY in various capacities until she took over as CEO in 1998, a role she held until she left CRY in 2004. Since then, she has been a consultant in the development sector. Pervin has worked with the Tata Institute for Social Sciences in Mumbai on a leadership development project. She also serves as a Trustee on the boards of CRY, Citizens for Peace (CFP), and Dream a Dream.

Harit Nagpal

TRUSTEE

VIEW

Harit Nagpal is the Managing Director and CEO of Tata Sky Ltd., since 2010. Harit followed his graduation in Chemical Engineering with an MBA from FMS at Delhi which he completed in 1985. Over 3 and a half decades, his experience has straddled equally between packaged goods and services through his tenures with Lakme, Marico, Pepsi, Shoppers Stop, Vodafone and now Tata Sky.

Sumitra Pasupathy

ADVISOR

Sumitra is Managing Director, Global Partnerships at Ashoka, and has enabled and built widespread social innovation through cross-sectoral global partnerships with civil society, philanthropy and the private sector. Sumitra has over 25 years of experience, previously having worked at Random House UK, Bertelsmann AG, Procter & Gamble and Kraft. This included work in new venture creation, innovation and growth initiatives, and in-depth research in society and markets in Europe, the US and Asia. She is a frequent publisher of new insights in societal innovation and holds several patents. Sumitra is a social entrepreneur, co-founding Playeum in Singapore to advance the rights of children by raising their voices through play and creativity. She has an MBA from INSEAD, an M.Eng and an M.A. from Cambridge University, and is a board member, board advisor, investment committee member and coach.
