Poetry Slam in Pune

British Library is enthused to host the first edition of the Poetry Slam in Pune.
The Poetry Slam concept is popular worldwide but Pune has not caught the bug yet. A Poetry Slam is a competition at which poets recite their original work. With the aim of introducing this interesting idea and also get all the closet poets out into the open, the event will be hosted on Saturday, 20 August from 6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.
Here is a great chance you to express yourself, share experiences and mingle with likeminded poets. We are providing you with a platform from where you can voice your thoughts and also be aware of others’ thought. Reading your poem is an option, but you can rap, sing and give theatrical performances also.
The contest is open to a maximum of 20 participants and they must be at least 16 years of age. The winner is decided on the basis of the volume of the audience claps. The poetry can be in English or Hindi and can be funny, serious, humorous or dry but all in good taste.
