The Powwow Club is holding a story-telling and activity session for children aged 3 – 8 years, at Hide n Peek activity centre, Jayamahal Extension, Bangalore. Details of the event are given below.
Theme – Walk in the Woods
Story – Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
Date: Saturday, 12th Nov.
Time: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Age: 3 – 8yr olds
The story will be narrated through an interactive puppet show in a jungle set-up with music & dance.
Activities:
1. Role play – Children will pretend to be mice, who run through the perils of a forest in an obstacle course.
2. Art and craft – a) Children learn to make animal prints on paper.
b) Children make Gruffalo masks and carry back home.

The Warli tribe – a community from Maharashtra – are wonderful artists, covering the brown mud walls of their homes with paintings in white pigment. The simple yet incredibly dynamic figures of Warli painting tell stories of village life, myth and legend. They are like fluid pictograms, rendered in a way that children can relate to immediately.This workshop engages children actively with Warli art – the art form and the people who paint in this style, village life, how to look at paintings, and finally, how to come up with their own pictures in the Warli style.
