Script: Devanagari

This is a very famous poem/phrase by great saint Dnyaneshwar. He was a 13th-century Marathi poet, philosopher and yogi. Here he talks about his mother tongue (Marathi), which happens to be my mother tongue too. He said, “How much ever I praise the beauty of this language, its not enough. Its sweetness is magnificent like Amrit”. Dnyaneshwar wrote in Marathi when the popular language of the educated/ learned was Sanskrit so that he could communicate and spread his knowledge to the masses that spoke Marathi, hence the importance of this verse. Also I think this applies to any language and script. Languages and scripts have the beauty to inspire and transform.
