Open Source Economics

“Law professor Yochai Benkler explains how collaborative projects like Wikipedia and Linux represent the next stage of human organization. By disrupting traditional economic production, copyright law and established competition, they’re paving the way for a new set of economic laws, where empowered individuals are put on a level playing field with industry giant.”

    Hi,

Why aren’t there any replies to mails sent to the address given on your official website – [email protected] ?

How long does it normally take for a response?

    I apologize. It shouldn’t take more than a day for a response…

You should have a response by end of day today.

Is there anything specific (sender or subject) we should keep an eye out for?

    Thanks Gautam.

I went through the Pratham Books website and read about the Read India campaign.

I would love to be a part of this wonderful campaign and contribute to it in any little way I can.

I forgot to sign in the last time I left a comment. I am Kavitha, a freelance writer based in India and I write children’s fiction too.

I had actually sent two mails – one asking about the manuscript submission guidelines, response time etc and another some time back enquiring about the availabilty of Pratham books in Chennai bookstores.

The subject of the mail is ‘Reg: Submission Guidelines’.

    Thanks for your time.

    Regards,
    Kavitha

    Dear Kavitha,

Hi. Can you please give me until early next week to look into the delay in responding to your mails.

Meanwhile let me right away answer your queries:

    1. Regarding Manuscript guidelines: You can send in your manuscript in word / pdf to us alongwith any thoughts on the age group, concepts in story etc….Our editorial team will get back to you in about a week or two.

    2. Unfortunately we do not retail anywhere except from our offices in Bangalore and Delhi. This is primarily due to the high retail margins and our commitment to keep all our books priced under Rs. 25. But we do courier books everywhere at additional costs. Let me know if this works for you.

    Rgds
