Notes from JLF : Usha Chhabra

For the sixth year in a row, we partnered with the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival and Teamwork Arts to manage to outreach component of the festival. In its sixth year, the Outreach from January 16-25th, 2017 was hosted in 100 schools in and around Jaipur. Here are some stories from the people who added all the magic to the events :
Usha Chaabra says…

Stories have power. They delight, enchant, touch, teach, recall, inspire, motivate, challenge. They help us understand. They imprint a picture on our minds. Want to make a point or raise an issue? Tell a story.— Janet Litherland

I could really sense the power of stories, A wonderful experience where kids as well as teachers enjoyed the stories. Stories and folk tales of different countries were shared through enactment as well as using props.Children were also involved through role play in some of the stories. It was heartening to see each person smiling at the end of the session and children asking for more stories.
I took six sessions in-
Govt. Girls Sec. School, Govind Nagar
Govt. Sr. Sec. School Harmada
Govt. UPS Murli Manohar , Ramganj Chaupar
Govt. UPS Maharaja Adarsh
Govt. Sec. school Baasbadanpura
Govt. PS Van Vihar
I sincerely appreciate the effort and congratulate Pratham Books for having reached the target of covering 100 schools.
