Launch of Third Eye Charitable Trust

Yesterday we mentioned that we are working on several projects and one of them is about making our books accessible. We are happy to announce that some of our Creative Commons licensed content will be converted into Braille by Third Eye Charitable Trust. We received an email from their team and as soon as we heard about their mission and the work they plan to do, we were keen to participate in the process too. Our books will be converted into Braille formats in the coming months.
The Third Eye Charitable Trust will be launched on World Braille Day (January 4th, 2010):
Third Eye focuses on creating, publishing and distributing reading materials suitable for all

print impaired. It is estimated that only about 5 % of the existing knowledge material are actually accessible to print impaired, thereby limiting the information advantage that they can have. We work with various publishing houses, governmental and non- governmental agencies to develop and distribute the books. The books can be in Braille, audio, e text, large print, tactile etc covering all forms of print impairment.
On the occasion of Louis Braille Day, we would like to donate the first of the few titles that we produced in Braille. We have produced about 25 Braille titles in English and Tamil for children and young adults, covering various areas, like fairy tales, moral stories, biographies, self –improvement, short stories and environmental awareness. We will be honored if you can grace the Launch by your presence. The program is attached.
