A Story From the Planet Called Sambar Sagar : Somesh Kumar’s Entry for the #6FrameStoryChallenge

“Many light years away from Earth, exists another planet called Sambar Sagar.” That was the first line for Somesh Kumar’s 6-frame story. We’ll tell you no more, because we’re keen that you weave your own story around his wildly imaginative illustrations. Space-ships, dragons and spicy sambar – this explosive combination is certainly going to inspire some crazy stories!
Somesh is one of our 8 Illustrator Gurus and he will be helping Pratham Books pick the winning entries for the #6FrameStoryChallenge. And guess what he had to say about the campaign?

“I took part in it to promote an ethical way of using content for open share, generated by the creators for the audience. And it’s always exciting to twist words and meanings around to weave a narrative visually. Also, I got an excuse to use my new brush pens for this!”

Well Somesh, aren’t we glad you broke into those new pens in this wonderful kind of way.

(Somesh Kumar runs Perch Project and By Two Design with his friend and colleague, Hazel Karkaria. He is a comic book/graphic novel enthusiast who likes to polish his brush pen usage skills by sketching in his free time. He loves his tea and has many times accidentally dipped his inking brush in it.
