Seen Reading: Literary Voyeurism

Seen Reading is a project by Julie Wilson and this is how it works:

Via Seen Reading:

1. I see you reading.
2. I guesstimate where you are in the book.
3. I trip on over to the bookstore and make a note of the text.
4. I let my imagination rip.
5. Readers become celebrities.
6. People get giddy and buy more books.

And here is an example from the site:

Westbound, Bloor and Broadview

Caucasian woman, early 50s, with short blonde bob, wearing blue fleece, and red and white knit hat with snowflake pattern.

Little Women, Louisa May Alcott (Bantam Classics)

Near the beginning:

As if she heard, Amy opened her eyes, and held out her arms, with a smile that went straight to Jo’s heart. Neither said a word, but they hugged one another close, in spite of the blankets, and everything was forgiven and forgotten in one hearty kiss.

Saturday mornings are for the sisters. While she checks in one last time before leaving, her husband sips his coffee in front of the computer, scratching his hair back to front into a high peak, thumbing the last bits of bacon from a paper towel. In something they’ve come to accept and look forward to, Saturday mornings away from one another are just what they need.
