Anagram Bookshop has a brilliant series of ‘Words Create Worlds‘ posters. Take a look at the list of literary events taking place across the world in the month of January. The PaperTigers blog has launched their Reading the World Challenge 2010.
Found a link to a really nice two storey library building for Safe Haven orphanage in Ban Tha Song Yan village, in Thailand. Talking about libraries, Narendra Modi was also tweeting about home libraries and reading (read the tweets here, here and here). Gyan-Key is taking libraries to villages in India.

A short while after the previous tweet was sent, @abhaga suggested that we could all try and build an India specific list with authors whose works have entered the public domain this year.
