The Pratham Books Style Guide

“A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts.”
― William Strunk Jr., The Elements of Style

At Pratham Books, we love The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White. It’s a well-thumbed, familiar book, kept on our editors’ desks. Over the last few years, we’ve sorely felt the need for an internal style guide, that defines our grammatical inclination while keeping our cultural antennae extended.

Developed by Rrishi Raote and designed by Adrija Ghosh, the Pratham Books Style Guide is free to download and use, under CCBY.
