Amazon Offers POD Option for Rare Books

Amazon is planning to offer reprints of up to 400,000 rare books through its print on demand unit BookSurge.According to Associated Press, the online retailer is teaming up with the University of Michigan for the project, which will span books in “more than 200 languages, from Acoli to Zulu”. Among key titles, which are out of print and out of copyright, and hail from the university’s library, is a 1898 book on nursing by the Lady of the Lamp, Florence Nightingale.
