Social-Emotional Learning Through Joyful Picture Books

Our Highlights from Manotsava — National Mental Health Festival 2025

Manotsava 2025 brought together educators, organisations, creators, and families from across the country to spark conversations on mental health and emotional well-being.

At Pratham Books, we believe stories help children understand themselves — and the world around them. This year, we were delighted to join Manotsava to spotlight the power of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) through joyful, multilingual picture books.

We hosted a delightful Kannada read-aloud of our much-loved SEL titles by Dr. Chaitra K. S (Surki Ani Tirki, Angry Akku and Stage Fright). Alongside it, our interactive stall invited visitors to experience the depth of wordless picture books and explore why SEL stories in mother-tongue languages matter. Together, these moments made Manotsava a vibrant space to reflect on how picture books shape a child’s emotional world.

Here are some glimpses from our weekend at Manotsava!
