The Sunshower Song casts a spell over children at BLF 2018.

Did you know that when the sun and the rain decide to join hands, it’s in preparation for a jackal’s wedding?

Vinayak Varma, author and illustrator, launched his latest book, The Sunshower Song, with a story reading at C | L | F (Children | Literature | Fun), the children’s edition of the Bangalore Literature Festival, at The LaLiT Ashok Lawns on Sunday.

Children delved into the folklore and legend behind The Sunshower Song across many cultures and languages, followed by a fun-filled narration of the story. Vivek BG brought alive the animals in the story with some wonderful sound effects, and before you knew it, the children were entranced by the thundering of the elephants, and the sweetness of birdsong that presided over the jackals’ wedding

After the reading, the children were encouraged to imitate various animal noises themselves and were thrilled to roar like lions, and chirp like birds.
