Rewind. Recap.

The week that was….

We have added more Creative Commons licensed illustrations for you to remix and experiment with on our Flickr pool. Our interns Naomi and Amani have reviewed one of our other books – ‘Mimi and the Buffalo‘.

After spending a long time in our office, Grape (the yak) who was visiting the Pratham Books office as part of the ‘Yak Around the World Campaign’ has now been sent to the lovely folks at Nanubhai Education Foundation. Read about Grape’s adventures and take a look at his photo album.

Mobile ArtLab is a perfect blend of iPhones and children’s books. We were blogging about the book launch of The Quest for the Shyn Emeralds. The book launch is over but you may still want to check out the book for your kids.

In an attempt to get kids to read more, the Central Board of Secondary Education plans to introduce a reading project for upper primary and secondary classes by recommending a series of books ranging from Mark Twain to contemporary writers like Sudha Murty.

Landmark International Foundation for Empowerment (LIFE) Trust is rolling out ‘The Joy in a box’ initiative which aims at spreading the joy of Christmas across the Anganwadis (pre-primary Government aided nurseries) in Mumbai.

The Crafts Studio presents ‘Makabala and the Magic Doll – The Craft of Stories‘ from the 15th-19th December 2009.
