Indian Authors at London Book Fair

News from the world of Indian publishing via The Times of India

The British Council and The London Book Fair will organize the India Market Focus Seminar Programme (2009) on April 20. More than 45 leading Indian writers, translators and critics will attend the event, which is based on cultural and linguistic diversity.

This is for the first time that such a wide variety of authors has been invited. The event is expected to feature the largest representation of Indian writers at a publishing

trade show.

The writers include Javed Akhtar, Amit Chaudhuri, Namdeo Dhasal, Ramachandra Guha, Jaishree Misra, Daljit Nagra, Anita Nair, Bhalchandra Nemade, Nandan Nilekani, K Satchidanandan, Shankar, Vikram Seth and Pavan K Varma. They will attend additional events in London and other parts of Britain.

Over 15 Indian languages will be represented in 40 events.
