Senior Manager – Donate-a-Book

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to drive the growth and evolution of the Donate-a-Book platform.

Location
Bangalore Office (Full-Time)
Core Focus
Growth Strategy & Partnerships

The ideal candidate is someone who is equally comfortable discussing growth strategy, platform evolution, donor engagement, strategic partnerships, and innovative campaigns while remaining deeply connected to the children and communities that Donate-a-Book ultimately serves. The role will focus on building relationships with institutions, corporates, and communities, strengthening platform engagement and sustainability, and ensuring that the needs of children and underserved communities remain at the heart of the platform’s growth and impact.

About Donate-a-Book

Donate-a-Book began as a crowdfunding platform that enabled individuals to support access to books for children. Over the years, it has evolved into a platform that connects donors, institutions, educators, communities, and implementation partners around a shared goal: building reading ecosystems and expanding access to books at scale.

As we enter the next phase of growth, we are looking for a leader who can reimagine the platform beyond traditional crowdfunding – designing innovative campaigns, forging strategic partnerships, and attracting institutional support while retaining the platform’s strong community-driven roots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall growth and engagement strategy for Donate-a-Book, setting priorities and initiatives that expand the platform’s reach, impact, and sustainability.
  • Design and execute innovative campaigns that inspire giving, volunteering, and participation.
  • Partner with socially responsible organisations to create employee engagement opportunities, including workplace giving, volunteering, matched giving, and campaign-led initiatives.
  • Identify, outreach to, and build relationships with schools, NGOs, library networks, and other partners who serve children and communities with limited access to books. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of organisations that could benefit from using Donate-a-Book.
  • Ensure that the voices, needs, and realities of the communities served by Donate-a-Book platform inform campaign design, partnership development, and platform evolution.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing, programmes, technology, and partnerships teams to deliver compelling experiences and align platform growth with organisational priorities.
  • Develop communication strategies that keep donors, employees, partners, and supporters informed about the impact of their contributions and connected to the platform over time.
  • Monitor platform performance, supporter engagement, campaign outcomes, and partnership effectiveness, and share insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Use data, sector trends, and emerging practices to continuously strengthen the platform and identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Position Donate-a-Book as a leading platform for engaging individuals, institutions, employees, and communities in support of children’s access to books and joyful reading opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 8-10 years of experience in growth marketing, partnerships, social impact, philanthropy, or related fields.
  • Experience managing raising funds.
  • Strong understanding of donor engagement and relationship management.
  • Experience designing campaigns that drive action and engagement.
  • Ability to develop strategic partnerships and institutional relationships.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills.
  • Comfort working with data and translating insights into action.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build new approaches from the ground up.
  • A strong sense of empathy for children and communities with limited access to books and reading opportunities, and a commitment to ensuring that their needs remain at the heart of the platform’s growth and evolution.
  • Passion for joyful reading, children’s access to books, education, children’s rights, or social impact.

Nice to have but not mandatory:

Previous experience in the social impact, education, philanthropy, CSR, or not-for-profit sectors, and/or experience leading teams, partnerships, or user-facing platforms.
