Apart from delighting us with two stories, Lily Banerjee also gave us a new way to look at the the stories that have come in for the #6FrameStoryChallenge. When asked about why she participated in the challenge, Lily told us :
The reason for participating in this challenge was to not only to test my ability of performing as an artist but also as a mother of a special kid for whom I have been thinking of doing such stories which do not need many words but pictures speaks all by themselves. These stories can be understood by all types of kids ( able or disabled). I don’t know if Pratham Books has thought about the disabled section of children also needing to read books but I desire to be able to do for them – to teach lot of social stories and yet needing a platform to do confidently at my pace.
My experience of participating in the challenge has been very very happy and fulfilling my childhood dream.
Thank you Lily for making us think of how these stories may reach multiple audiences. We look forward to seeing you as an active part of our community – producing and consuming stories!
(Lily Banerjee is a mother and is pursuing her dream to be a good artist. She is a self taught artist and loves taking up challenges. She has been a web designer for a few years and you can view her profile here.)
