A pleasant November day brought a truly special treat for the students of the Deep Foundation School. They had the wonderful opportunity to listen to storyteller Akshay Pathak who was an absolute hit from the word go! Soon the children started to actively participate in the session and the room was echoing with laughter. The session was fun and yet thought provoking as Akshay nudged the children to think outside the box and encouraged everyone, even me, to participate in the session. Watching the children reminded one of what Bookaroo as all about as the essence of the children’s literature festival was truly captured. Here’s to many more such events!

Bookaroo in the city took Sankha Banerjee, an artist from Campfire Books to meet the children of Kendriya Vidyalaya Delhi Cantt. He called his session “How to make your own graphic novel” where he spoke of the art of creating comics. The love children have for comics and Mr. Banerjee’s involvement kept the children excited and interested. And the children showed real talent by creating their own one page graphic novel. All in all, it was a beautiful session.
