About the Organisation:

Pratham Books has been democratising access to books for children so that every child can discover the joy of reading at a young age. Children who read more are more likely to succeed at school and in life. Our stories are published in engaging formats across a range of Indian and foreign languages that help children read more.

StoryWeaver is Pratham Books’ open-source, digital repository of high-quality, openly licensed multilingual children’s storybooks. Every book is freely available in multiple formats that can be read online, and keeping in mind the digital divide – can also be read offline, downloaded, printed, and even repurposed, so that no child is left behind. Translation and versioning tools help customise the books for localised requirements and these resources become available to other users as well, creating a multiplier effect and amplifying impact. The platform hosts over 49,000 storybooks in 330 languages reaching a readership of over 21 million.
