Each sculpture is unique and is a response to the exploration of paper as a permanent sculptural medium. Paper is a beautiful medium to work with and for Sher the challenge and joy lie in creating truly three-dimensional forms from something that is ordinarily flat, giving each sculpture its strength and permanence. A piece of paper can be folded, curved and sculpted into simple or complex detail that belies its fragility and transitory nature. It is a testament to the skill of the artist that no other materials are used to create these astonishing and intriguing sculptures.
