Priya Manikandan’s story for the #6FrameStoryChallenge is about a curious little girl who loves reading books. Priya says that the little girl is gifted with an extraordinary visualizing capacity which takes her to different fantasy lands. We hope that kiddos and readers who get to see all the work that has been created for the open source platform take their own flights of fantasy while remixing these delightful creations.
Priya tells us why she took the #6FrameStoryChallenge :
“My Creative Inner Child craves to express herself to the outer world. She pushed me into taking part in this #6FrameStoryChallenge. As always my fearful self was skeptical and procrastinated till 29th January. I could no longer see my little child suffer and pushed myself to give it a try (I have to mention the casual conversation with my friend. I got a spark and tried a quick illustration. That gave me a lot of confidence to attempt the challenge). I started my work post lunch on 30th January. I would work for an hour or two and go back to my house hold chores. It was an awesome experience to see my imagination transform into colours. I have no words to thank Pratham Books for this wonderful opportunity. It was a challenging treat to my imagination. I am always driven by the pressure of last minute work tension. That did help me to give my best.”
(Priya Manikandan describes herself as a simple, cheerful, fun loving woman. She grew up in the midst of nature and has a great passion for art and craft works. She is a self-taught artist who was on a long sabbatical(family life) for almost 15 years and
revived her passion to create art all over again (my career) a year ago. She loves spending time with children and draws inspiration from nature, children and colours. She has conducted summer camps and creative art classes for children, worked as a skill development trainer, does a lot of intuitive /expressive paintings, is a varoacious reader and enjoys writing too.
