About Us 

Pratham Books is a not-for-profit children’s book publisher that was set up in 2004 to publish good quality, affordable books in many Indian languages. Our mission is to see ‘a book in every child’s hand’ and we have spread the joy of reading to millions of children in India. As a publisher serving every child in India, Pratham Books has always pushed the boundaries when it comes to exploring innovative ways in which to create access to joyful stories and have been fortunate in finding partners to collaborate with who share this vision.

In 2015, Pratham Books’ increased its footprint by going digital and launching StoryWeaver. StoryWeaver (www.storyweaver.org.in) aims at enabling book security at scale, by pioneering a new, inclusive approach to book creation and distribution. StoryWeaver provides open access to multilingual storybooks that can be read online, offline or downloaded & printed for non-digital environments. 

We are looking for an Intern to join our Content team, StoryWeaver

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Project management and editorial support for migration of content to StoryWeaver. Create a content pipeline for future migration.
  • Project level support: curations, content categorization/ mapping, content for tech projects, content sprints, campaigns, read-alongs.
  • Project-level support for partner/community collaborations – (translation sprints, rating sprints, creation sprints).
  • Rating stories and images on StoryWeaver as part of the platform hygiene checks process.
  • Support for format adapts – publishing of AV content as per set guidelines and SOPs.
  • Support for building a database of potential content partners.
  • Support for environment mapping – content trends across other platforms, trending themes etc. 
  • Support for documentation of use cases, processes etc.
  • Support and coordination across various teams to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

Required skills: 

  • Post Graduate degree in any field. 
  • Written and Spoken English/ Any additional language proficiency is also welcomed.
  • Ms Office (basic)/ Google Suite.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented.
  • Critical thinker, pro-active and high on ownership.

Duration: 

This internship is for a time-period of 6 months, which can be extended on mutual agreement and requirement.

Location: 

This is an intern position and is based out of Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Compensation: 

Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experiences
