Pratham Books ( is a not-for-profit children’s book publisher that was set up in 2004 to publish good quality, affordable books in many Indian languages. Our mission is to see ‘a book in every child’s hand’ and we have spread the joy of reading to millions of children in India. As a publisher serving every child in India, Pratham Books has always pushed the boundaries when it comes to exploring innovative ways in which to create access to joyful stories and have been fortunate in finding partners to collaborate with who share this vision.

In 2015, Pratham Books increased its footprint by going digital and launching StoryWeaver. StoryWeaver ( aims at enabling book security at scale, by pioneering a new, inclusive approach to book creation and distribution. StoryWeaver provides open access to multilingual storybooks that can be read online, offline or downloaded & printed for non-digital environments.

Donate-a-Book is a unique crowdfunding initiative by Pratham books that enables individuals, NGOs that work with children or want to set up libraries to raise funds for delightful storybooks for the children they work with. Since its inception in 2015, we have helped get 450,000 Pratham Books story books to over 1 million children across India.


We are looking for a Donate-a-Book Intern

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Community Development Intern to join our team at Donate-a-Book. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of community development and partnerships while contributing to a meaningful cause. The ideal candidate is passionate, has excellent communication skills, and is eager to learn and grow within our organisation.


Key Responsibilities

– Assist in identifying and researching potential partners, sponsors, and donors.

– Support in the development and implementation of fundraising, partnerships, community development and engagement, crowdfunding platform management strategies.

– Help maintain and update the CRM system.

– Participate in outreach efforts, including email campaigns, phone calls, and meetings.

– Assist in daily fundraising operations and campaigns.

– Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.


Required skills

– Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in BBA, BBM, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

– Strong interest in partnerships and community development.

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

– Strong organisational and time management skills.

– Passion for social impact.

This internship is for a time period of 6 months, which can be extended on mutual agreement and requirement.



This is an intern position and is based out of Bengaluru, Karnataka.



Stipend will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experiences.
