Congratulations, you have decided to be a water champion! Read these easy tips and pledge your support.
For children/Schools:
1. Report a leaky tap at school or home to an elder (teacher or parent).
2.
Pour remaining water from the water bottle into a potted plant instead of pouring it down the sink.
3.
Wash bikes with a bucket of water and cloth.
4.
Don’t let the tap run when you are soaping your hands or brushing your teeth.
5.
Don’t open the tap to the maximum extent. Control the flow.
6.
If you have a solar water heater, collect the cold water that comes initially in a bucket or two. Don’t let it just flow down the drain.
For adults:
1.
Run the washing machine only with a full load of clothes.
2. Fix leaky taps at the earliest.
3.
Go in for rainwater harvesting.
4.
Put in low flow shower heads and taps.
5.
Wash vessels in one lot. You use less water.
6.
Water your plants early in the morning or late in the evening. This minimizes evaporation losses.
