Biography


Neeta Gangopadhya
Neeta Gangopadhya is a post graduate from the College of Art, New
Delhi. She has illustrated books for children for most of her
professional life. She has worked on text books and picture books for a
range of publishers such as Oxford University Press, Cambridge
University Press, National Book Trust, Children's Book Trust, Ratna
Sagar, Penguin, Katha and Scholastic.
She was accorded the honour of representing India at the Biennale of
Illustrations held at Bratislava in 1995.Her illustrations have also
been included in the volume titled,"Once Upon A Time In India" which
was nominated for the IBBY Honour list in 2006.
She has also worked on two reference volumes:"Ancient Indian Costumes"
and "Medieval Indian Costumes" by Roshan Alkazi.
Neeta is a keen reader, traveler and an ardent dog lover.When her
rumbuctious labrador, Ronnie allows her some time, she likes to watch
programmes on history, wildlife, culture and science.
On her experience of working with Pratham Books,..."I like the idea of
my work reaching children in so many parts of India in their own
