| MANORAMA JAFA is a well known writer of books for children and has contributed many articles and research papers. She was Chairperson of the 26th Congress of International Board on Books for Young People (1998), chairperson of jury for IIY-Asahi Reading Promotion Award (2000-2001) and member of the jury for the UNESCO Prize for Books on Tolerance (1999-2000). She is Secretary-General of the Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children since 1981. Over the past three decades she has encouraged new talent and pioneered a movement for better books for children in India. |
