Pratham Books conducted a storytelling and puppet making workshop at Crossword Bookstore. 25 children listened to the story which began with 2 trees the Himu and the Morinda and ended mid-way where the trees are cut. We were hoping the children would make up their own story and then read the book's version later.

But the most exciting part of the session was

When the children had to choose their favorite animal from the book and make a puppet. While for the younger ones the mother's helped out the older ones even left us impressed with their speed and attention to detail!

In the end it was heartening to see the children buy many of our titles, in fact a 4-year old little girl was overheard telling “mummy buy the book quickly and tell me what happened to the trees!”
